Ino Karemaker joined us as a postdoctoral fellow. Ino, did her PhD in Michiel Vermeulen’s lab at Radboud Institute for Molecular Life Sciences, Nijmegen (NL). Welcome Ino!
Simon Seliner from the University of Zurich joined us for his Master thesis in Quantitative and Systems Biology. Welcome Simon!
Nina strikes again! She is one of the few recipients of this year’s SNF Ambizione grants that enable experienced postdocs to carry out an independent project in their host labs. Congratulations!

Over the summer several members and guests have left us to start new positions or to return to their home institutions:
Gintare Sendzikaite (PhD Student in Gavin Kelsey’s Lab @ Babraham Institute, UK) will return to the University of Cambridge to finaliser her successful PhD studies.
Jahnavi Bhaskaran (MSc student from ETH Zurich) will start her PhD in Juanma Vaquerizas’ Lab at MPI Muenster, Germany.
Ramon Pfänder (MSc student from Uni Zurich) will continue his career as a PhD Student. Currently he is looking for exciting positions in Systems Biology.
Chaitra Rao (Undergrad student from ETH) will join Judith Zaugg’s group at EMBL Heidelberg for her Masters.

We have been awarded a collaborative grant from the Cancer Research Center Zurich. This collaboration between Michael Wellers group at the University Hospital Zurich and our group, bridges epigenomics and translational brain tumor research to understand the gene regulatory landscape that drives cancer evolution and treatment resistance in glioblastoma.
